Zoo Enclosure Design

After a service learning activity at the zoo, 1st graders were 'hired' as zoo designers. They began their project with collaborative animal research, went on a Google Expedition to the San Diego Zoo and found the most important needs of the animal. They moved through each step of the design thinking cycle, from planning to creating to testing, to prototype meaningful and well-informed zoo animal enclosures. Learners shared their designs and practiced peer feedback routines.
